The Best Site - Hands Down - For Christian Audiobooks (Paid & Free)

Do you listen to audiobooks? Have you wanted to, but the thought of listening to a book while on your computer seems unrealistic, and getting the file downloaded and transferred to your phone or tablet seems too complicated? If so…your answer is ChristianAudio.com.

I have been using ChristianAudio since 2009. Think of them as Audible.com with only Christian books. In fact, over 5,000 Christian books.

Here’s a 3-minute video review and walk-thru. If you prefer to read, scroll on down a few inches and read away!

Here are a few of my favorite things… (Insert light, fluffy music here.)

The Monthly Free Book

ChristianAudio 3

Let’s be honest. Lots of sites give stuff away. However, most of them give away something that is old, short, or public domain. Not ChristianAudio.com.

Every month, ChristianAudio gives away a free, premium audiobook. Oftentimes, it’s a brand new release from a best-selling author. You can see the last five audiobooks in the screenshot of my account to the right.

If you watched the video above, you’ve already seen me walk you through how to get your free book. If you haven’t, here’s the 3-step process:

  1. Register for a free account at www.ChristianAudio.com. (You don’t need to have one of their paid memberships to get the free monthly book.)
  2. Once logged in, click the “Free” link at the top of the site.
  3. Click “Confirm.”

The book will be added to your “Library” where you can download it, or listen via the ChristianAudio App. (Currently available on iPhone, and iPad and here are instructions for using  ChristianAudio on Android).

This leads me to my second favorite thing…

The ChristianAudio App

This app is fantastic and automatically synchronizes with the account on your computer. Once you have confirmed a purchase, the book will be ready to listen to on your device.

A few features I love…

  • Streaming or downloading (for offline listening)
  • Remembers the last location
  • Easily add a bookmark with one tap
  • Variable speeds for playback (I almost always listen at 1.5x.)

Specials (Lots of them!)

It seems like they are always running a special. I know…every store has specials. And it’s annoying for stores where it just says special but the price is always the same.

Once again, ChristianAudio sets themselves apart.

They have specials based on topics. They have specials based on holidays or special events. They have Buy-One-Get-One. Or my favorite: Specials based on an author.

Every so often I get an email with “Every book by ABC-Author is $7.99.” If your favorite author comes up, you can save a lot of money.

Final Note

If you listen to a lot of audiobooks (or think you might start) their paid memberships are the way to go. For $14.95/mo you can get four credits. For another $10 you can double it to eight.

Books not only have a price, they also have a credit value. Books range from one credit to five. (I’d say the average is three credits.)

Some months you could use your credits to get one book. Other times you’ll get a few. Unused credits roll over and never expire so you don’t waste them.

I highly recommend you check out ChristianAudio. It’ll take you less than five minutes to go from “No Account” to “Listening to My Free Book.” Click their logo below to get started.
